Mitsubishi Electric Industrial IGBT Modules incorporate an inverter, 3-phase converter, and brake circuit into a single package. The IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) are required for inverter use in many industrial equipment types and have driven the trend towards high currents and high voltage since 1990. The Industrial IGBT Modules offer a chip structure that also evolved from a flat planar structure to a trench gate structure. The CSTBT™ (Mitsubishi Electric's unique IGBT that makes use of the carrier cumulative effect) allows low loss and smaller size for industrial equipment. The Mitsubishi Electric Industrial IGBT Modules lineup ranges from the 5th generation composite products with a thin profile (NX type) in addition to the former external shape (standard type), to the 6th generation S series, and the 7th generation T/T1 series, with low power loss and smaller size.
